Concordia University Texas ABSN Prerequisites
To be accepted into our ABSN track, you must complete each of the ABSN prerequisites below with a “C” grade or higher while maintaining both cumulative and science GPAs of 3.0 and above. Concordia University Texas offers all prerequisite courses online.
When you’re ready to begin your nursing prerequisites, Concordia University Texas makes it easy for you to do so by offering the courses online in eight-week sessions. Completing your ABSN track prerequisites through Concordia Texas can benefit you in a variety of ways.
In addition to giving you access to Concordia Texas’s online learning platform early on, the online learning format grants you the flexibility to complete each course at a time that works best for you, while meeting any and all deadlines.

Requirements for Students Without a Previous Degree
If you do not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and are applying for our ABSN track with the minimum transferable credits, then you must complete the Concordia Common Experience CORE courses listed below:

Are online prerequisite courses accepted?
Concordia University Texas offers all prerequisite courses online on the same flexible e-learning platform students will use for their ABSN coursework. It is also possible to complete prerequisite courses online at another institution; however, they must be approved for credit to transfer. Please ask your admissions counselor for more information, as every student’s circumstances are unique.
Can I transfer prerequisite credits from another college or university?
Your admissions counselor will review your transcripts to identify which pre-existing credits transfer and which do not. While Concordia Texas offers all prerequisite courses online, you can complete courses with a different institution, provided they are approved. Please ask your admissions counselor for more information.
How long does it take to complete prerequisites for an ABSN program?
When completing prerequisite courses online with Concordia Texas, each course lasts eight weeks. The total time depends on the number of courses you must complete and how many courses you take simultaneously.
What should I do if I’m missing prerequisite courses?
If you are missing prerequisites, your admissions counselor will help you enroll in the remaining courses so you can complete them in time for your target ABSN track start date.
